Jones Strategic brings an insider’s expertise to meet the needs of ports and other economic development entities. Our history includes many successful partnerships with private and public entities nationwide, providing strategic and business planning guidance, project advocacy and implementation, and executive recruiting of high-level roles.

Meet the Patrick Jones.

Patrick Jones

With more than 25 years’ experience in public and non-profit sectors at the director level, Pat has a unique insight into what it takes to get things done. His proven success at working effectively across public and private sectors is coupled with deep understanding and experience in integrating planning, funding and partnering for permissions and deal funding.

Pat’s in-depth knowledge has produced many accomplishments in the areas of policy development, government relations and public affairs related to economic development, transportation infrastructure and business climate issues in the state of Washington.

Prior to Jones Strategic, Pat served in director-level roles at the Port of Seattle and at the American Association of Port Authorities, where he represented all US ports before the US Congress and executive agencies. He also served at the helm of the influential trade association, Washington Public Ports Association, for 17 years. Pat has represented large institutions and complex issues as a strategist, analyst, advocate, negotiator and communicator. Additionally, he played a vital role in the development and execution of the SeaTac third runway project.

I recommend Jones Strategic to any port managing a transition. When the Port of Vancouver USA was embarking on a CEO search, their deep experience with ports and port directors was invaluable. Jones Strategic helped us not only clarify the Port’s medium-to-long term goals, but also identify the attributes we needed in candidates to attain those goals.
